Even five decades after its release, Bitches Brews remains the gold standard for jazz fusion

52 years ago this August Miles Davis brought together a group of musicians to record the vast groundbreaking album Bitches Brew. With the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Sly & the Family Stone and James Brown in his head, Davis hooked up and brought that electric rock sensation to jazz.

All this appeared recently, in 1969. After the release of the album, he turned jazz musicians into rock stars. For many years, the musicians seemed to always keep up with Davis.
